Lives Changed

By Andrew Mullens | Kimbilio Support

Thank you so much for your financial support for this Project which gives street children a future filled with hope. The children are usually under-nourished when they come to the Day Centre in Lubumbashi and the team of Congolese carers provides them with a meal, a shower and fresh clothing. Where the children have suffered injuries or picked up an infection from their time on the streets, we provide medical care as well.

It is our intention to locate the family of each child and seek to reintegrate them into their wider family. This process can take many months, so the children may be offered the opportunity to stay in one of the Kimbilio houses and go to the new Kimbilio School.

At the moment, we see up to 500 children each month coming to the Day Centre, so the work of the Kimbilio is a real lifeline for these street children
