Thank you so much for your financial support for this Kimbilio Project. We see so many children living on the streets of Lubumbashi in the Democratic Republic of Congo whose lives have been damaged through no fault of their own. Many have been working in the mines for a pittance in awful conditions and Kimbilio aims to give them hope and a positive future.
The provision of education to these children is vital if they are going to escape their past and the new Kimbilio School is addressing this need. There are currently twenty-three junior-aged and nine secondary-aged former street children who are being educated at the school alongside 335 children from the local area. The school has its own IT suite, which is not common for every State school, so the children can acquire the necessary skills to gain a good job when they leave school.
