New School Year 2026-2027

We started our new school year this past Monday September 14. One hundred percent of our students passed their national exams at the end of the last school year thanks to the determination and hard work of all the students and faculty. This year we will be setting up internet services via Starlink at the school. We are so grateful for all the recent support we have received in order to start the new school year. In spite of gang activity that has moved closer to our school location we are still persevering and providing the education that our students deserve.

Spring 2026 Update at Ecole Jeremie St. Fort

This past term has been a very difficult one emotionally for our students in Rodaille. In mid-April, there was a gang attack on a community not far from the school. Several people were killed, and the local police station was burned down. This is the closest gang activity has ever come to our school community.
Since then, students and staff have been living with fear and uncertainty, worried that the gangs could infiltrate and take over their buildings. Sadly, this is the kind of threat that many communities throughout Haiti face every day.
School is currently still in session and will close for the summer at the end of June. Understandably, the ongoing stress and fear have affected the students’ academic performance. Even so, they continue to persevere and do the best they can under these very difficult circumstances.
Please keep our students, staff, and families in your thoughts and prayers as we navigate through these challenging times.

Winter Update for BRITE Initiative 2025-26

We have had a wonderful start to our school year. Most of our students at Ecole Jeremie St. Fort are doing well and are right on track academically. Thankfully the community of Rodaille, where the school is located, has been spared from any infiltration by gangs who are invading other parts of Haiti. We will be continuing the remainder of our construction on the school, thanks to the Penshorn Foundation that has partnered with us for several years. We have plans to add an administration building and to complete the library and computer lab. Unfortunately, we were forced to close our medical clinic for now due to lack of funds to support it.
Thank you to the Charleston Church of Christ for holding their fundraiser in December that raised over $22K to support our operations. They have been a faithful supporter for many years. Thank you to all of our financial supporters that provide for us through GlobalGiving on a regular basis. We could not complete our mission without you.
