Project Report | Feb 13, 2017
Full circle education and employment opportunities

By Dom Williams | Founder and Director

Local teachers in Guatemala
Local teachers in Guatemala

2017 has opened its doors and we are prepared, already up and running in Ecuador with plans underway to add more local teachers for when the new term starts in September. With the teachers covering two classes the need is stark and real. Our local teachers in Guatemala have settled in well and we welcomed yet another ex-student to the ranks as teacher. Our Honduran college students are proving to be very good teacher assistants in the primary school. As a stipend we pay them and also cover their university costs. Perú starts up again in March and our local teachers are preparing for the new school year and we aim to add yet another ex-student to the ranks as teacher.

Yet more children are now able to move on to secondary school having graduated from our school as family sustainable income plans we are introducing provide the necessary extra money to fund this. Our aim over the next two years is to set up local businesses for our graduates from college and University whilst also adding the number of Phoenix local teachers.

The third Seven Continent Charity Challenge gets underway in Guatemala on Tuesday 21st March 2017 to raise funds for project costs and employment opportunities for our graduates, as mentionned above, climbing Volcano Tajumulco, the highest point in Central America. There are more events planned throughout the year in different countries including England, Ireland, Australia, Canada and the United States so if you want to get involved in Guatemala on 21st March or other events, please do contact us on the link below and you can use this page as your fundraising page. Alternatively, if you want to donate to the cause, please donate to this page!
