Transport Barriers Still Limiting Volunteer Reach

By Joy Ojochogwu Etubi | Project Leader

Dear Donors,

We sincerely thank the donors who have supported the Fund an 18-Seater Bus for Volunteer Activities project. Your generosity shows strong support for reaching underserved communities. We truly appreciate the contributions received so far, however, the funds available at this time are still not enough to purchase the bus and begin its use.

Across many parts of Nigeria, volunteers continue to face serious transport challenges. Rising travel costs and unreliable public transport make it difficult to reach rural communities consistently. As a result, some areas remain underserved, and planned activities are delayed or reduced.

Without a dedicated vehicle, volunteers often cover transport costs personally, which limits how frequently they can travel. This affects the delivery of health education, youth mentoring, and support programs for women and families who depend on these services.

This project is designed to provide an 18-seater bus that will allow volunteers to travel together safely and at a lower cost. With reliable transport, more outreach visits can take place, and more communities can be reached without interruption.

With this support in place, programs can run more consistently, and volunteers can focus on serving communities without the burden of transport challenges.

We are grateful for the support already received and remain hopeful that additional contributions will make it possible to acquire the bus and expand outreach activities.

Sincerely,

Joy Ojochogwu Etubi
