Dear donors,
Big thank you for your support to this project and to everyone who has shown interest in it. Your support confirms that reaching underserved communities matters. However, the funds received so far are not enough to purchase the bus, and this means our volunteer activities continue to face serious limits.
Transportation has become one of the biggest challenges for community work in Nigeria. Transport fares have risen by more than 200 percent in the past two years. For many volunteers, reaching rural areas now costs more than they can afford. As a result, visits are reduced or cancelled, and communities miss out on health talks, youth mentoring, and women’s programs that depend on regular presence.
Public transport is often unreliable, unsafe, and not suitable for group travel with materials. Volunteers are forced to pay from their own pockets, which discourages long-term commitment. Many rural communities remain cut off, not because help is unavailable, but because it is difficult to reach them.
This project plans to purchase an 18-seater bus dedicated to volunteer activities. The bus will allow safe, shared travel to rural and underserved areas across Nigeria. It will reduce transport costs, improve planning, and ensure that programs run on time. With reliable transport, volunteers can reach more communities and serve more families consistently.
Over time, this bus will support health education, women’s health outreach, and youth programs without interruption. It will also encourage more volunteers to participate, knowing transport is no longer a barrier.
We are close, but more support is needed to make this possible and keep vital services reaching those who need them most.
With thanks,
