Thank you so much!

Thank you to everyone who has kindly donated to help to fund Childline! With your help, we have raised over £11,000 which has helped to answer over 2,750 calls from children all across the UK who need somewhere to turn to.

All mental and emotional health and wellbeing remains the top concern for children and young people contacting Childline. There were 105,366 counselling sessions in 2022/23 about mental and emotional health, suicide, or self-harm, making up over half of all counselling sessions! The NSPCC and Childline continues to adapt our services to assist the needs of children and recently launched the Building Connections service to help tackle loneliness.

Building Connections

In October 2023, the NSPCC launched Building Connections, a brand newbrand-new befriending service for children and young people struggling with loneliness. Loneliness is closely linked to poor mental health. Often the two can create a vicious circle, reinforcing one another. Building Connections allows young people to work with a dedicated befriender to find their way through loneliness, helping them build resilience and confidence.

Children who have spoken to Childline about loneliness have said they struggle to build relationships with other people. Building Connections sets itself apart from Childline by using a befriending approach, where young people can speak to the same befriender over a period of time, helping them also learn how to developbuild a relationship with someone else.

Thank you!

Over 90% of our income comes through donations, and we are extremely grateful for the support we have recieved from those who have donated.

We thank you again for your support, and we hope that you will continue to share and support our fight for children.
