Thank You: Your Gift at Work in Zambia

To our GlobalGiving donors,

Thank you. Because of you, this campaign raised $6,000 with 12 different donors, for YOCUPA's child protection work in Zambia, and we want to show you exactly where it went!

Your gifts covered the operational foundation that keeps YOCUPA's prevention work running. Specifically, they:

  • Purchased a laptop for the YOCUPA office, replacing essential equipment so the team can coordinate trainings, reporting, and hotline planning effectively.
  • Provided two months of staff allowances, so team members could continue direct development and support work with youth beneficiaries.
  • Covered office rent and core administrative costs, including stationery, printer ink and toner, fuel for travel to schools and communities, and meeting expenses.

These are not costs at the margins of the work. They are what make the work possible. A prevention program cannot reach a classroom without transport, cannot document a case without a working laptop, and cannot retain skilled staff without paying them. Your support held all of that steady during a critical stretch.

With that foundation in place, YOCUPA continued its core programming: school-based Anti-Sexual Harassment Action Groups that train students to recognize harm, support their peers, and report abuse; trauma-informed peer support for survivors; Theatre for Community Action that brings hard conversations into schools and public spaces; and continued progress toward a 24/7 child protection hotline.

Every dollar you gave translated into safer schools and stronger reporting pathways for children and young people in Zambia. Thank you for standing behind locally led child protection, and for trusting YOCUPA to carry it out.

With gratitude,
The GRACE Cares Team, on behalf of YOCUPA (Zambia)
