Dear donors,
Mental health remains one of the most neglected health needs in Africa, especially in rural and underserved communities. Women and children are often the most affected, yet access to counseling and support services is very limited. Women-led mental health nonprofits are doing critical work, but many lack the resources to reach those in need.
We are grateful for the initial support received for this project. However, the current funds are not yet enough to begin grant disbursement and on-the-ground activities. This project is designed to provide meaningful grants to women-led nonprofits so they can deliver counseling, awareness programs, and community support. To do this effectively, additional funds are needed.
With more support, this project will fund local women-led organizations to expand mental health services, reduce stigma, and reach isolated communities where care is currently unavailable. These groups are trusted at the community level and are well positioned to deliver impact once funding is secured.
Continued support is essential to move this project from planning to action and to ensure that vulnerable women and children gain access to mental health care they urgently need.
Warm regards,
Ugbede-Ojo Dominic Kadiri
