Towards a Rabies-free Coimbatore
Towards a Rabies-free Coimbatore

Dear friends,

The last two months witnessed remarkable porgress in terms of our efforts towards combating the deadly diseae of Rabies. The dedicated hotline was officially launched in the presence of government officials marking a significant mile-stone in the fight against Rabies. The hospital at the Sanctuary started functioning, bringing the much needed relief to the rural areas of the district where access to veterinary care is limited. We pushed our limits once again as we positively impacted more than 2500 animals, with over 500 spay/neuter surgeries, 2000 vaccinations, 70 rescues, and 50 adoptions!

When Zayan was rescued, his tail was severely injured and the tip necrosed with bone exposed. He was so traumatized by the experience. But this fighter never gave up. With a successful tail amputation, lots of love and care, Zayan made a complete recovery and since then been released back to his community. Every rescue is a reminder of why we do what we do and we are ever grateful to each one of you for helping us made happy endings like Zayan's possible.

Thrown away like trash, Naran was found in a trench—his hind legs brutally severed in an act of unthinkable cruelty. Despite having all the reasons to give up, Naran prevailed. We couldn't save his legs, but we saved his life. With walking wheels and endless care, Naran now races through the sanctuary with a spark that lights up every face and inspires everyone he comes across.

We have inaugurated the "Empathy Grove" — a centre for creating awareness around the plight of street animals and to build compassion and respect for all life. Several sessions held there with school children have created a lasting impact about the need to care for street animals.

The number of residents at our sanctuary has crossed 115 now, and several of them are in need of sponsors while they await their second chance. Your USD 50 can fully sponsor one permanent resident for a whole month or sponsor a day's meal for all 300 residents of both the rescue centre and the sanctuary. We remain ever grateful for your compassion towards the voiceless. Please continue to support us.

Thank you!
