March and April 2022 Update for the HAS Sanctuary

By Mini Vasudevan | Project Leader

Adopt, Don't Shop!
Adopt, Don't Shop!

March and April were months bustling with activities and we were able to cover a lot of ground thanks to the unstinting support pouring in from our wonderful donors world-wide.

The highlights of these two months have been the phenomenal number of spay/neuter surgeries, vaccinations and adoptions. We have also a few success stories of incredible transformations. The most compelling adoption story is that of Ayaan and Pearly—the perfectly complementing duo who found a forever home together in April. The adopt-a-thon held by Paws for a Cause also saw 18 adoptions including that of two abandoned labradors who again were lucky to find a home together!

Our 16th anniversary was celebrated amidst a lot of gratitude for the incredible support that we continue to get for helping animals and also facilitating changes in attitudes and mindsets. We have gone from strength to strength over the years and YOU have played a significant role in the journey so far and the journey to continue. The number of animals positively impacted has been on a steep ascend and we hope to ride on this crest in the years to come.

Pooja's state was very critical when she was brought to us with vaginal discharge and loss of appetite. She was diagnosed with a condition called Pyometra and had to undergo an emergency surgery. The remarkable recovery after the surgery was heartwarming and she was able to reunite with her community in a week's time. Pandu was weak and malnourished with no fur left on his body when rescued and he had a huge hole on his dorsal side that had been caused by maggot infestation. Over the course of a month in which he received continual medical care, regular wound dressing, nutritious food, and lots of love, he started to heal well and his beautiful fur grew back. The amazing transformation was quite a sight to watch and we are overjoyed to report that Pandu has survived against all odds and is back amidst his pals.

Our ability to trasform lives has been made possible only by your support. Your $50 donation covers the entire cost of treatment and care of one rescue pet for a whole month, that can make all the difference in his/her life. No amount is too small when it comes to making a difference to precious lives. Our deep appreciation and heartfelt gratitude to your sustained commitment to the cause.
