We are working with children diagnosed with congenital heart defects (CHD) born in underprivileged families. We have been reaching out to such children and families through our various programs. After 7 years, we are proud to say that we have impacted more than 15000 children through free screening for congenital heart diseases- PraDAAN program Saved 54 lives by providing financial assistance for treatment to the families- CHF HRIDAAN program
Congenital Heart Diseases (CHDs) are the most common birth defect in the world, representing a major global health challenge. It is the leading cause of child mortality from Birth defects. In Uganda specifically, the burden of CHD is enormous, because of a very high birth rate, An estimated 180,000 -2,00000 infants in Uganda are born with CHD every year 60,000 to 90,000 suffer from critical CHD requiring very early intervention, Only few heart surgeries are performed on infants eve
FUTURE INITIATIVES Partnering with CHILD HEART FOUNDATION proposes to intervene to fill the gap at the grass root level. We can train the pediatricians and neonatologists with pediatric echocardiography skills which will enable early screening for congenital heart defects in a larger population. We also propose to help with carrying out early interventions on the diagnosed cases
