Dearest supporter,
I've always felt that spring comes with such promise! It's definitely a season for new beginnings, invigoration and a little final reflection before the year wheel turns. For Amantani that means an opportunity for new projects to bloom. And April, so far, has been a month filled with fresh starts and exciting firsts that I’d love to share with you.
- We held our first "Coffee Meet" in Cusco, reuniting with companies interested in offering job opportunities to the young people who are either in their final semesters or have already graduated. These connections are key to opening professional paths for them at the end of their education journey. A journey that you helped create!
- We hosted the first official meeting for our 2025 Pathways Programme. We’ve started working closely with parents and communities in Cusco, setting the tone for what lies ahead with the 30 new young participants who will join the programme this year. This inclusion of parents and community is crucial to keep Andean Young People not just in education but thriving.
- We held our first Tinkuy of the year. Our traditional Tinkuys allow us to meet with the parents of the young people we work with, so that we can share, discuss and listen to hopes and concerns. It is essential for us to continue developing and nurturing these relationships to make sure we are aligned and accountable with our mission every step of the way.
- We completed our first BIG report of the year. Our annual Report for 2024 is now available and is linked below! You can see exactly where your support goes and what you and Amantani are achieving!
Every one of these “firsts” is a step towards something greater, a step on the journey alongside the Young Andean People we all want to see flourish and we would definitely love for them to keep reaching higher! But for that, we'd need your help. So, since we are talking about FIRSTS, I want to invite you to try something new this month. In case you haven't yet ... have you considered becoming a monthly donor?
Regular support is the backbone of all impact. It allows forward planning, active responses to the needs of the young people, sustainable programming to help more young people, and it allow for lasting cultural change to come about. If you believe in long-term change, monthly giving is the most powerful way to make it happen. You can become a monthly donor on GlobalGiving for just $5 a month. Just $5 a month makes a crazy difference once it's in Peru, it goes so much further in that economy - which means you can scale your compassion and reach MORE people in need, creating MORE change.
$5 might get you a coffee and a small pastry on the way to work in the US, but in Peru it could pay for all 3 full meals in one day for a high schooler.
If you'd like to know more please reach out.
Thank you, as always, for walking this path with us.
¡Hasta pronto!
Iain
