Project Report | Dec 28, 2025
Quarterly Progress Report

By Nasteho Tahir | Project Lead

Summary of Progress

During Quarter 4 of 2025, Talobeeg Foundation continued preparatory, coordination, and early implementation efforts for the Galkaio School Clinics for Emergency Care & Health project. The project seeks to strengthen access to basic emergency care and essential health services for school-aged children in Galkaio through school-based clinic support, health awareness, and referral mechanisms.

While full-scale implementation was constrained by funding timelines, the Foundation ensured continuity of priority activities through strong local collaboration and adaptive planning.

Activities Undertaken This Quarter

  • Continued engagement with school administrations, local authorities, and health stakeholders to maintain readiness for project implementation.
  • Ongoing delivery of basic school health and emergency response support using locally available resources.
  • Review and refinement of the school clinic intervention model, including emergency care needs, first-aid preparedness, and referral pathways.
  • Alignment of planned activities with school calendars to ensure effective rollout without disrupting learning processes.

Fundraising Progress and Financial Adaptation

The project has made very strong progress in fundraising, successfully reaching its initial funding target with contributions from only three donors. Building on this positive momentum and in order to sustain and expand implementation, Talobeeg Foundation revised the overall fundraising target to USD 50,000.

While awaiting the disbursement of the first installment of raised funds, the Foundation has continued implementation by mobilizing locally available resources. These include technical and in-kind support from the Ministry of Health, the local government of Galkaio, participating schools, and community structures. This collective effort has enabled essential activities to continue without interruption despite funding delays.

Challenges and Adaptive Measures

The primary challenge during the reporting period was the timing of fund disbursement relative to implementation needs. To mitigate this, Talobeeg Foundation adopted an adaptive approach that emphasized:

  • Cost-effective use of existing public and community resources;
  • Phased implementation planning to avoid service disruption;
  • Strong coordination with local partners to maintain service continuity.

Plans for the Next Quarter

In the next quarter, Talobeeg Foundation plans to integrate ongoing project activities with systematic data collection to support applied research on school health interventions. This will generate evidence on effectiveness, outcomes, and implementation models, which will be used to:

  • Inform national policy discussions on school health services;
  • Strengthen advocacy with relevant ministries and stakeholders;
  • Support the scale-up and institutionalization of school health services across Somalia.

A more detailed implementation and results-focused report will be submitted in the next reporting cycle once activities progress further.

Talobeeg Foundation sincerely thanks GlobalGiving and its donors for their continued trust and support. Your contributions are critical to improving emergency care and health outcomes for children in Galkaio schools.
