This project will establish fully equipped and staffed school based clinics in Galkaio to deliver emergency care and health education. In just six months, students and staff will experience quicker medical response, improved hygiene practices, and heightened health awareness. As a result, this fosters resilience and sustainability, transforming schools into safer and healthier environments where communities are empowered to continue proactive health practices beyond the funding period.
Students in Galkaio District face inadequate access to timely emergency medical care and structured health education within their schools. As a result, minor injuries and preventable illnesses frequently go unaddressed, leading to increased absenteeism and impaired academic performance. The absence of organized health education further undermines student and community awareness around hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention perpetuating cycles of poor health and less educational outcome.
The proposed project aims to establish fully equipped school-based health clinics across Galkaio District. These clinics will provide immediate emergency care and deliver structured health education sessions on topics such as hygiene, nutrition, and disease prevention. By training health focal persons within schools and integrating health services into the daily school routine, the project seeks to create a safer and healthier learning environment for students.
This project will establish health clinics within participating schools, equipped with first aid and sanitation supplies, and staffed by trained health focal persons. These clinics will deliver immediate emergency care and lead regular health education sessions on hygiene, nutrition, and preventive health. The approach also includes capacity building ,training personnel and connecting schools with local health centers to ensure sustainable care.
