The fragile ceasefire collapsed on March 18th with bombs falling in every town throughout Gaza and massive loss of life. Thankfully, our team & CBO partners are alive, our 9 kitchens serving 25,000 meals per day. Families, newly displaced, need shelter and food. Ignorant of the dire circumstances, children ask parents for Eid clothes, like any child would do on a holiday. This Eid, be a beacon of hope for Gaza's children. Let them know there are people who truly care for them. Give Eid Clothes.
Gaza's borders closed on March 2nd, blocking all humanitarian aid. As a result, food prices are skyrocketing, making it especially difficult for families with no source of income. Clothing however is in surplus because few have cash. In such dire circumstances, parents are in no position to buy their children Eid clothes, a tradition that brings joy to little ones. Your generosity makes it possible for our teams in Gaza to deliver new clothes & shoes to 1000 children and spread joy among them.
We have already moved 1000 outfits and shoes for children into our warehouse. Your generosity delivers outfits & pairs of shoes to 1000 children chosen due to greatest need. Eid is in a few days - this is the time to get those packages to children. Not only that, we ask you to take 1 more action: Email Congress to bring an immediate truce for Eid+Passover. President Trump's January ceasefire brought immense relief to families in Gaza after 14 long months. Your email can make truce happen again.
Joy Harjo, Poet Laureate of the United States, wrote, "For the children, so they may find their way through the dark- They are all our children." Your care and intervention may be the only way to remind policy makers that these are children just like their own. Your email will urge elected officials to be brave enough to call for a truce now, for Eid and Passover and Easter. Years down the line, the children may remember this one small act of kindness they could hold onto in unbearable times.
