In response to the catastrophic hunger crisis in Gaza, Rebuilding Alliance, in partnership with the World Food Program (WFP), is currently serving over 40,000 hot meals in multiple locations in Gaza through our Non-Governmental Org. partners and local community-based cooking teams. WFP is covering 3/4 of the costs of the program. We need your help to continue this vital program. Help us meet our commitment and provide hot meals to displaced families in Gaza.
The war in Gaza has displaced 85% of the population. There's widespread destruction-people have lost homes and any remaining sources of income. Due to a strict blockade, food supplies are not entering Gaza resulting in an acute shortage of food. The entire population of 2.3 million people is facing hunger and starvation. Through our hot meals program, we're helping people meet their daily nutritional requirements and saving lives.
Starting Oct 9th, RA immediately provided aid to displaced families in Gaza. Because displaced people cannot cook, our NGO partners and community-based kitchens are serving fresh bread and hot meals. In partnership with the WFP, we have been able to deliver essential food supplies while allowing local kitchens to additional food sourced locally. However, prices are increasing due to limited stock, emphasizing the urgent need for your help to continue providing these lifelines to those in need.
This program is serving food to families in their immediate neighborhoods while keeping them safe. It is also providing a monthly stipend to all the Neighborhood Chefs helping them earn much-needed income. Until the blockade is lifted or a humanitarian corridor is provided, this program fills in the gap in humanitarian aid and is vital for the survival of displaced families in Gaza.
