Get a Kosovan Kid to School

Last Saturday was not an ordinary day at the Azure Learning Center in Fushe Kosove for all the children of extracurricular activities.

  Every Saturday, children from the first to sixth grade come to the center to learn more through educational activities and to help them learn basic subjects at school, but last week they had a different Saturday than they are used. Before them, two animators from Tirana presented a wonderful and very interesting show for all the children and the staff as well.

On the faces of the children, you could see a huge smile and an indescribable happiness, they were enjoying the show, laughing, dancing and having endless fun. The children were also very attentive to the questions posed by the animators and answered very quickly and immediately understood the purpose and message of the show.

Laughter and music resounded in the center and all the children were dancing. For Elmedina, who is in the 6th grade, this day was very special and she would not forget it, she enjoyed laughing and dancing and even invited me and my colleague Arijeta to dance.

This show, which gave the children a lot of happiness, made this day be remembered for a long time in the memory of each child.

Making children happy is the best thing a person can do, especially if those children are in economic difficulty.

The beginning of the new school year is a period where children are very happy because they return to school, meet their peers and teachers and start a new school year. But not for all children this new beginning is equal. Due to poor economic conditions, in most cases, the children of the Roma, Ashkali and Egyptian communities, due to the lack of school bags and materials, cannot rejoice at the beginning of the new school year.

Despite the challenges that these children and their parents face and the education of the new generations, thank you, generous donor, who with your generosity are helping these families, these families are not alone in their journey. Even though the school year starts in September, the generosity of our friends, partners and donors has started earlier in the organization and proper provision of school materials.

In February a group of students from Mara Foundation from the Netherlands visited us at our educational center for 3 days in a row and donated about 40 bags and school material, also in the month of June, Tom, a volunteer from England visited us and brought us school bags from campaign he has in his school to raise funds.

Thanks to you, dear donors, we have distributed about 330 bags together with school material in our educational centers in Fushe Kosove, Janjeve, Gracanice and Obiliq, and all these children were given hope and an even greater motivation to your journey to knowledge

For Elmedina, who is in the 4th grade, this day was very happy for her and her brothers because her parents found it impossible to buy bags for all their children. We are very happy that you donors, are making such a big impact on the communities we are serving.
