Toybank envisions a world where all children are empowered through healthy play. Approximately 40% of India's children risk losing out on healthy and happy childhoods. The nation faces alarming issues like 33 million child laborers under the age of 18, 1 in 4 children dropping out of school (Census 2011), increase in crimes against children by 500% (NCRB 2016), etc. Frequent migration, impoverished parents unable to focus on children's learning and developmental needs, etc. deprive children of age-appropriate growth, adversely affecting their mental well-being.
Toybank sets up Play Centers in partnership with government schools, shelter homes, community-based organizations and NGOs engaged with children from vulnerable communities. Here, Play Sessions involving board games and play activities are curated for children to have safe, engaging and joyful play experiences crucial to their development. Impacting 77,000+ children through 400+ Play Centers, we strive to change every at-risk child's perspective towards life in their adulthood.
Early childhood development programs ensure the right stimulation for children to be resilient and improve their future outcomes. In our research after a year long intervention, 2,856 children displayed an increase of: 32% in curiosity, 42% in honesty levels, 25% in attendance. Over the years, children have shown more empathy, responsibility, problem-solving, critical thinking and confidence.
