Gift Laptops to Sphoorti Undergraduate Students

Thank you for supporting our efforts to provide laptops to as many students as posible.

We are happy to share that till date, we have provided laptops to 24 students through GlobalGiving campaign and other sources.
A year ago, we provided a laptop to an Engineering student Shweta (Electronics Engg Final Year). She comes from a very poor background. She lost her father at a young age and joined Sphoorti in 2013.

After completing High School, she chose Electronics Engineering and joined a good College in Hyderabad. Again, through a GlobalGiving Campaign, we have been able to cover her tuition and living expenses.

After she was given a laptop, she has been making good use of the device. She has been learnng Python and other languages using he laptopn and Internet connection.

She recently got selected in an IT company because of her hard work and your support.

Through this project and related sources, we have been able to provide 25 laptops so far. We are putting in efforts to provide 40 more laptops this academic year. 

We currently have more than 65 children who are in Undegraduate studies making use of these laptops. Some children have graduated and were gracious to return their laptops to their junior students. 

All the children with laptops have said that their academic performance has improved substantially. after they started using laptops. It is also a matter of self-esteem that they have laptops on par with other students who hail from normal backgrounds. They are able to compete with their classmates in examinations, seminars, assignments and research projects.

Your support is also helping them browse the Net, watch useful videos and keep themselves updated with the latest in their fields, improve their resumes and in networking. Some of our children are learning courses like Python and Data Science related.

We are hopeful that your support to our children will continue for future batches of Undergraduate students and that we will be able to provide a laptop each to our Undergraduate students in the near future.
