Summary

The project is intended to facilitate, educate and bring about 70 new girls' children to school from Pre-Nursery to Class 10th annually in Jalala area of District Mardan in Pakistan's Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province, where 75% of the people work in brick kilns for generations. They don't send their children, especially girls, to school due to their lack of awareness, poor socio-economic situation, and other cultural restraints. The funds will be spent on scholarships and a safe school environment.

Challenge

Hundreds of children in the Jalala area of District Mardan of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Province in Pakistan are out of school, half of whom are girls. The people work in brick kilns for generations and are less likely to send their children to school, especially girls. The main reasons for the low ratio of sending girls to schools are lack of awareness, the high inflation rate in the country, low income, and unaffordability of educational expenses. The current school building lacks basic facilities.

Solution

We have established a formal school in this area with a population of 10000 heads to provide their children with quality education according to 21st century needs. We provide equal opportunity to girls' students to read, write and help build an educated family and society. This project will help us establish separate washrooms for girls students, and pay them with scholarships and educational resources/logistics. It will help us upgrade our computer lab to accommodate more girls students.

Long-Term Impact

An educated mother is 40% more likely to send her children to school. This project will help us bring more and more girls to school. It is estimated that approximately 70 girls students will join the school annually from Pre-Nursery to Matriculation (10 years of education). It will raise awareness among the people and break the stereotype of educating girls in society. Educating as many girls students as possible will lower the ratio of child marriages and build a healthier and educated society.
