Gift quality education to girls in Mardan Pakistan

Dear friends of children,

We are thrilled to inform you that today, on International Women's Day, we are publishing our latest donor report on the impact of your generous donation towards our project of educating girls. Your donation has helped us to protect girls from the harsh realities they face and has contributed significantly to our mission of empowering girls through education.

1. Installation of Water Filter:

With your help, we have installed a water filter that benefits more than 70 girls on a daily basis by providing them with access to clean drinking water. Additionally, we have inducted 11 laptops into our computer lab, providing our students with access to technology and digital resources that enhance their learning experience.

2. Visit of our students to Edwards College Peshawar:

On the 2nd of March 2023, we took our students on a new adventure as they attended a theater play at Edwards College Peshawar. For all of the students, this was their first time attending a live theater performance. The students were also briefed about the history of Edwards College, a prestigious institution serving the community since 1900. They were inspired by the stories of past students who went on to achieve great things, and they felt a sense of pride being in such a historic and respected place.

3. Community awareness session:

A community awareness session was organized with the aim of highlighting the significance of girls' education and the role it plays in the development of society. The participants were briefed on the importance of 21st-century education and how it can impact the lives of girls. They were encouraged to support this cause and spread the message to educate more girls. Overall, the session was successful in creating awareness and garnering support for the cause of girls' education.

We still have more work to do to improve the quality of education for our students. Below details outlining our future plans for the project:

Activity: Bring 33 more girls to school before the commencement of new academic session of 1^st April 2023
Cost: 2310 USD
Impact: More girls get educated and we will reach to meet the target of the current year
 
Activity: Establishing a well-equipped science lab
Cost: 1000 USD
Impact: Improved quality of education in science
 
Activity: Solarisation due to energy crises in Pakistan
Cost: 8000 USD
Impact: Uninterrupted power supply for educational tools, fans and lights
 
Activity: Establishing a Library
Cost: 1200 USD
Impact: Improved reading and learning opportunities

We are committed to ensuring that our students have access to the best possible educational resources, and we are confident that, with your continued support, we can achieve this goal.

It is essential to continue helping because education is the key to empowering girls and enabling them to reach their full potential. With your support, we can provide a safe and nurturing environment for our students, where they can learn and grow, and become confident, empowered young women.

• Sponsorship and Scholarships 

18 students have been admitted so far in three different categories (talent-based, need-based, and 9 others sponsored by Dosti-Onyx School from our own resources as our contribution). See the scholarship counter below. 

• Provision of training to the students

Imagine the children born to parents who work in brick kilns for generations getting trained by the University of Birlin, Germany. Yes, it's been done. Our children completed a short training titled, “Responsibilities of Peer towards Bullying and Victimization” online from University of Birlin, Germany as part of the anti-bullying campaign initiated at the school in October 2022, to coup with the behavioral problems of the children.

• Future Plans

The target was to admit 70 out-of-school girls annually, 27 among them have been admitted so far and 10 more will be admitted in the current budget. We still need to generate funds and accomodate 33 more children to reach this year's target before March 31st, 2023.
