Thirty-one of our girls have participated in the Secondary Education Examination (SEE) that has finished last week and, now we are waiting until the end of June to see how well they did in the exam. The exam is very important because it determines who are eligible to study the higher education and what faculty.
During the last quarter, our focus remain on preparing the girls for their final exams. This month is the last month of educational year so all our girls will be taking the final exam. We have been busy providing all necessary study materials that are need for the exam and paid their examination fees on-time to get admit card. We have also provided a three month of coaching classes to the thirty-one girls who took the SEE exam.
School attendance of the girls were brilliant in the quarter and, they had an attendance of above 75% of the school days. We have also provided 180 notebooks and 210 pens in addition for the exam.
To demonstrate transparency and a good governance, we organised an annual general meeting in which we presented our annual audited accounts. The meeting was attended by local authorities, representatives of other NGOs operating in the community, news reporters, all our girls and their parents. We also organised an educational local tour on the day for the girls only.
