Dear Friends,
Wish you all a Happy Menstrual Hygiene Day!
Menstruation is a crucial and indispensable part of every woman's life. Despite being so, it is perceived as an unclean and impure process. People, even women and girls refrain from talking about it openly which causes ignorance and health issues. 28th May is observed as International Menstrual Hygiene Day to highlight the significance of good menstrual health and hygiene. This important event is celebrated by the Indian Dreams Foundation every year.
Our Project Smiley Days aim to bring awareness among women and girls and to sensitize them towards their sexual and reproductive health. Under this project, we organize many workshops and programs. To commemorate this day every year we assure the participation of as many women and girls as possible so that they could be empowered.
But this year it won't be possible to conduct such programs due to lockdown. However, this physical distancing should not slow our pace and weaken our admiration, hence we came up with this Campaign named "MY SMILE, MY PAD". Our motto behind it is to spread awareness among masses on menstrual hygiene. Women & girls can contribute to this cause by sharing a photo of holding a sanitary napkin in the hands with a smile on faces and uploaded on the social media accounts/ Facebook.
This campaign will show respect for women and their pride, dignity, and health.
You can also support this campaign and share your pic on Facebook with a sanitary pad.
Thank you so much for your support for the Smiley Days Project.
Regards,
Team IDF
