Dear Friends,
Greetings from Indian Dreams Foundation!
It is our pleasure to share with you the updates of the Smiley Days Project that aims to disseminate knowledge and information towards menstrual hygiene management and wellbeing to the targeted adolescent girls and women from underserved communities of Agra, India.
However, the entire world has been facing the most critical time due to the uncertainty and pathetic COVID 19 pandemic. Well the time of crisis, the IDF team has been dedicatedly working in the communities and generating awareness towards COVID19 along with female menstrual health by providing them regular counseling, awareness workshops and hygiene kits.
When our beneficiaries struggled to deal with their periods without sanitary napkins during the lockdown period as all shops were closed, our Smiley Days team played a crucial role in communicating with women & girls in the field at their doorsteps and provided sanitary napkins to them. That has given much relief and support to the girls and women in a tough time of lockdown and they were able to tackle their periods safely and hygienically.
Here is a real story of our beneficiary, who has shared her lockdown experience with the team,
Priti, 18 years (name changed) said, “I was depressed during lockdown because all shops were closed and I had nothing to soak my menstrual blood. Before lockdown, I received sanitary pads from the IDF Center free of cost, but lockdown periods were tough for me. However, the first month of lockdown I used cloth, but that gave me discomfort then IDF team members provided me hygiene kit and sanitary napkins. I thank team IDF who is supporting many girls like me during this tough time".
Many thanks again for your support!
We will continue to keep you updated about our work, events and story of change.
