Dear Friends,
Greetings from the Indian Dreams Foundation!
It is our pleasure to share with you the Smiley Days updates from April to July 2022 and how the girls feel after attending Smiley Days Workshops;
Number of Girls Connected with Smiley Days Program 1084
Number of Communities Reached 10
Number of Awareness Generation Workshops on MHM conducted 10
Number of Cluster Meetings or Small Group Meetings 12
Number of Smiley Card Distributed 260
Apart from the above updates; Recently, the Smiley Days team has conducted an awareness workshop for one of the partner school’s girls on menarche and the importance of hygiene practices during periods to stay healthy. The target group was 10 to 14 aged school girls who are in the age of menarche or their first periods.
The objective behind this beneficiaries group is to target those young girls who are the age of puberty. As we believe that girls from this age really need to get knowledge about physical changes during the puberty stage as well as need to know information about menstruation.
The participants shared their testimonials with team members after completion of the workshop;
Vanshika (name changed) said, “I am in 5th standard and I didn’t have any knowledge about periods. I was puzzled that why my elder sister skipped school 2-3 days the months even I went to school daily. Now I understand the reason”.
She added, “I really happy to know the biological changes in the girls. Now, I am ready to welcome my first periods with confidence”.
Regards,
Team IDF
