Hello Friends,
Greetings from Indian Dreams Foundation !
Menstrual cycle is an important indicator of women's reproductive health. However, menstruation has a different pattern within a few years after menarche, which might not be well understood by many adolescent girls.
IDF team is rigorously working to spread awareness among adolescent girls and women towards healthy menstruation and collected many stories from the ground. Below a story of our beneficiary named Poonam (name changed) who shared her story with IDF team;
“When I was attended a periods awareness workshop in my school that was conducted by Indian Dreams Foundation, That’s when I first heard about periods. It was so weird knowing such bodily processes were going on around me.
Many of my school friends had already started with their menarche (first occurrence of menstruation) and they were totally confused & afraid and wondering “what is going to happen to us? Are we suffering from any severe disease, so that I am bleeding?” But during the IDF’s awareness workshop, Didi explained everything very well and made me comfortable”.
“Today I am a confident girl and grateful that I have good knowledge in the topic and all my doubts on periods have cleared. Thank you Indian Dreams Foundation for providing us important knowledge”.
We warmly invite you to consider making a year-end donation to go toward promoting menstrual hygiene management in girls and women in 2024.
Thank you so much for your support and motivation !
Regards,
Team IDF
