Challenge

Despite the advances of recent decades, inequality between boys and girls in the scientific fields is still large, and educational institutions play a central role in this issue. The first woman to win a Nobel Prize was Marie Curie in 1903. Since then, 22 women have been recognized with a nobleman of physics, chemistry or medicine. They represent only 3.53% of the science laureates. The number of researchers in these areas is also low: only 28% worldwide, according to the United Nations (UN).

Solution

The project aims to impact girls from 12 to 18 years, promoting access to education in science and technology focused on Steam. Seeks to change the paradigm on female participation in these areas. It offers learning kits, participation in events, lectures and excursions to expand knowledge and encourage students' interest and engagement. With the inclusion of a smaller group of boys students so that girls live with a scenario closer to the reality of the job market.

Long-Term Impact

The project has a great long -term impact as it hurts access to science and technology education, focused on Steam, as well as changing the paradigm on female participation in these areas, includes activities with learning kits, events, lectures and inclusion of boys To create a more realistic job on the job market, preparing girls for future careers in mixed environments. This changes the "status quo" of the environment in which they live.
