In this year of continued uncertainty, with COVID-19 and daily adoption and kidnapping of school children threatening education and livelihoods in Nigeria, we are thrilled and grateful to be able to share some exceptional news with you:
We are honored to accept the following awards on behalf of you our donors who make our work possible and of course on behalf of all the girls we support whose resilience and dedication to learn make our investment a lasting one.
1. In recognition of hard work, active engagements, effectiveness and accountability of resources, Girls Education Mission International is named - 2021 VETTED , TOP-RANKED AND EFFECCTVE ORGANISATION by GlobalGiving
2.We are confered with AFRICA LIVES DEVELOPMENT AWARD by Africa Skills Center South Africa for our achievements, impact and integrity.
3. Our Executive Director, Keturah Shammah was presented a national AWARD FOR UNSURPASSED PERORMANCE IN HUMAN CAPACITY DEVELOPMENT CUM SERVICE TO THE NATION by National Association Of Nigerian Students (NANS) . While presenting the award, the chairman award committee (NANS), said, "after a thorough background check by the Senate of NANS, the President of NANS has ratified Mrs. Shammah this award as she remains a reification of a human leader with philanthropic disposition who is not in love with money but justice, not in love with publicity but in love with humanity".
4. Global Education Summit and Awards 2021 have confirmed the selection of our Executive Director, Keturah Shammah as a Winner of the prestigious award in the category of OUTSTANDING DIRECTOR FOR THE CONTRIBUTION IN THE FIELD OF EDUCATION.
5. Girls Education Mission International is been TOP-RATED FOR THE 7TH TIME IN A ROW by GreatNonprofits.
A big thank you to you our community who believed in us.The recognition of GEM as an extraordinry nonproft organistion committed to giving back to the society, giving girls hope and reasons to live and becoming agents of change speaks first and foremost our corporate accountabilty approach and power of investing in girls.
On a sad report, the pandemic has had a catastrophic effect on families and girls, with estimates that 11 million girls may not return to school as a result of the crisis. With your support, GEM is focusing on a sustainable model of educating girls in a way that is scalable.
