Girls in domestic work: Health=empowerment in Peru

Dear GlobalGiving supporters:

 We want to express our gratitude for your support to the project "Girls in domestic work: Health= Empowerment in Peru". As you might remember, this project was one of the participants of the Girl Effect Challenge last November. Launching this project through this challenge, in collaboration with Global Giving, was a great experience to us. While it was really intense, we enjoyed every minute of it. A lot of people liked the project on Facebook and talked about it with their friends and families. Although we did not get to win the challenge, participating was worth it because we gained a valuable supporter: You.

 "Girls in domestic work: Health= Empowerment in Peru" is a project aiming to support sexual and reproductive education among girls working in domestic service in Peru. Through a mentoring approach, former child domestic workers will guide other girls on the process of learning about their sexual and reproductive rights and will encourage them to take good decisions for their futures.

 With the Girl Effect Challenge we started our fundraising efforts to fund this project. At the moment we are still on the process of collecting funds, however we have already started with the selection of our mentors. We are very excited about doing this because we are getting to know some very enthusiastic girls that will hopefully join us in this project. We will keep you posted and introduce them to you by our next report.
