5 of the 10 vulnerable toddlers have arrived!
We are so pleased to announce that thanks to our wonderful donors, you, A Child for All has been able to bring in the first 5 of the 10 vulnerable children off of the streets and into their new home at ACFA’s Zorokoro Children’s Complex. These three little girls and two little boys are ages 3-5 years old and are settling into Zorokoro nicely. We’ve established their birth certificates, set up their periodic health care check up including regular preventative vaccinations, etc… Please meet Salimata, Ramatoulaye, Boubacar Sidiki, Sekou and Kadidia!
The older ACFA children who typically live at ACFA’s Bamako Children’s Home are temporarily living with the new children at the Zorokoro Children’s Complex. They were moved from the capital of Bamako to be safer from the risks of COVID-19, to have more space and also to greet the toddlers and help them transition to their new surroundings.
With all the new space at Zorokoro, the older children have built a new garden, planting cucumbers, salad, and tomatoes. They also helped to build a temporary basketball court, so they have a dedicated space to play. Regarding health care, a board member coordinated a recent visit by Doctors without Borders which ensured that the children have all that they need to stay healthy, including new hand-washing stations. The next step in our continuing plan is to open the newly built classrooms of the school for the next school year for the new little toddlers starting with pre-kindergarten.
We do not plan to stop here! Our goal is to bring in an additional 5 children within the next two months. To fund the nutrition, shelter, education, and proper healthcare for 5 new children, we need to raise an additional $2,573 to meet our goal. Please help us close the gap to provide for these little ones!
Thank you so much for your continued support. We would not be able to do any of this without you.
