We are happy to report that we have given away 7,624 books as of between January 2025 and September 2025, bumping up our total number of donations to 510,025. We have also printed a little over 16,000 copies of several titles to give away under the project. These include a story book, Ang Pusang Kartero, and three activity books, Safe Space: A Kid’s Guide to Data Privacy, I Am the Change in Climate Change, and #YOUTHink: Fight Fake News in Ilokano, a Philippine language from North Luzon.
Despite logistical challenges, our books traveled more than 450 kilometers and reached Batac, Ilocos Norte, one of our provinces up north! Baligat Elementary School was among the first recipients of #YOUTHink: Labanan Ti Fake News as part of the school’s literacy program, Project Intayon. We have more copies of our Ilokano version of #YOUTHink and we welcome volunteers and partners who can support us in transporting these books to more communities in the north.
Meanwhile, communities in Batangas received copies of Ang Pusang Kartero. Students at Darasa Daycare Center and Tanauan Poblacion 1 Daycare Center received 100 copies each. Some hardbound copies to share were also donated to the Daughters of Mary Immaculate School-Tanauan (DMIS) library.
We are also happy to have contributed books to young patients in the cancer ward of the National Children’s Hospital through Little Ark Foundation. Children awaiting and undergoing treatment definitely could use books for entertainment and learning.
We had the privilege to partner with several Teacher Fellows of Teach for the Philippines designated in different areas of the country! Thanks to them, our books have made it to Baligat Elementary School and San Fermin Elementary School in the north, Camiling East Central Elementary School in Central Luzon, and Aguisan Elementary School in Negros Occidental. The partnerships continue as we currently coordinate with more fellows in different regions.
Thank you all for your valuable support in giving away children’s books to those who need them most!
