Thank you for your support in 2023!

By Marie-Claude Pelchat | Project Leader

As we reflect on what we were able to accomplish in 2023, we are overwhelmed with gratitude for your generous support towards our mission of enhancing burn rehabilitation skills worldwide. Your contribution has been instrumental in empowering burn rehabilitation professionals from low-middle income countries through knowledge sharing and training, ensuring that burn survivors receive the care and support they deserve.

Your generosity has enabled us to grow our online training project in 2023, including:

  • Organizing 8 online training programs in Spanish, tailored for burn therapists and rehabilitation professionals in Latin America. These programs attracted a total of 167 registrations from 90 participants, demonstrating the immense need and interest in enhancing burn rehabilitation skills within the region.
  • Additionally, we conducted 2 online training programs in English for the first time, catering to 54 burn therapists and rehabilitation professionals in Asia. These programs received 83 registrations, and marked the beginning of our efforts to expand online burn rehabilitation training in the region.
  • Our training programs achieved an average course completion rate of 79% (our original goal was 80% completion rate). Furthermore, the average post-test passing rate stood at 98%. The average improvement rate between pre-test and post-test was an outstanding 104%, showcasing the effectiveness of our training initiatives in enhancing professional skills and knowledge.
  • In addition to our training programs, we have maintained a dynamic online presence through our website, blog, and YouTube Channel in both English and Spanish. Our efforts to share burn rehabilitation knowledge and tips have been well-received, with our blog attracting 730 visitors and our YouTube Channel garnering 100 subscribers.

Your support has been pivotal in advancing our mission and ensuring that burn survivors worldwide receive the care and support they need to rebuild their lives. We are deeply grateful for your commitment to our cause and the impact it has made on the lives of so many.

As we move forward into 2024, we invite you to continue supporting our efforts to empower burn rehabilitation professionals and improve care for burn survivors globally. We also encourage you to support us during GlobalGiving’s Little by Little campaign. From April 8 to April 12, eligible donations up to $50 per unique donor per organization will be matched at 50% during the campaign until funds run out. $200,000 is available in Matching Funds for participating projects, so be sure to donate early to ensure that your donation is matched!

Once again, thank you for your generosity and belief in our mission.
