Hundreds of thousands of Syrians living in camps in northern Syria suffer from a severe lack of clean drinking water sources as the war there has continued for 14 years. Through this project, we plan to provide clean drinking water to about 300 families distributed among three camps in the city of Soran, northern Syria.
In Syria, a previous United Nations report says that there are 15.5 million Syrians who lack clean water throughout the country, and northern Syria is considered the most affected area. Poor access to clean water resources causes many problems, most notably the spread of diseases such as diarrhea, hepatitis, and scabies. The high temperatures in the summer also increase the suffering of these refugees, as their need to consume water for drinking and reducing the heat of the weather doubles.
We at AMAL ALUMMA organization look forward to ensuring that refugees in camps have safe and equitable access to adequate water for drinking, cooking and personal sanitary uses. With your support, we plan to provide clean water to about 300 families during the summer as follows: 1- Providing families with water tanks to store drinking water. 2- Providing drinking water periodically using water tanks. 3- Conduct periodic tests to ensure the quality and cleanliness of the water.
Through this project, we will work to provide means of storing potable water for displaced families who face difficulties in accessing clean water, in addition to preserving its purity and reducing the spread of diseases associated with contaminated water sources. This will ensure that infectious diseases do not spread and that refugees enjoy good health and improve their lives. These needy people are more at ease by solving the problem of water supply
