Thank you for your support for the Hong Kong Association for Cleft Lip and Palate (HKACLP)!
With your support, we managed to bring more smiles to patients with cleft lip and palate and their parents. Below are some highlights of our activities in 2016 Quarter 2.
Stanley Plaza Community Exhibition
This year’s community exhibition was held on 19th March 2016 in the Stanley Plaza. More than 10 volunteers participated in this event. They supported the event by setting up the exhibition booth, distributing promotion leaflets about HKACLP, managing booth games and charity sale. This event has attracted many people and it was completed successfully under the joint effort of all volunteers.
2016 Cleft Lip and Palate Charity Medical Consultation
11 volunteers of HKACLP joined the “2016 Cleft Lip and Palate Charity Medical Consultation” organized by the Hong Kong University Shen Zhen Hospital, the Rotary Club of Hong Kong Island West, the Rotary Club of Victoria Peak and the Beam International Foundation from 14th to 17th April 2016.
Volunteers share photos of their own children with Cleft Lip and Palate before and after surgeries, distributed leaflets about HKACLP and explained the services and support available. Also, they made a visit to the waiting area of Operation Theater to comfort parents whose children were receiving surgeries. Then volunteers gave out free feeding equipments to the parents, and teach how to take care of their children after surgery. These few days in Shen Zhen were meaningful for the volunteers, and they look forward to participate in this kind of event in the future.
