The Music is a stimulus to intelligence in children

By Ana Palacio | Executive Director

Juan is 12 years old and his passion is music. Despite the difficulties he has in movement and learning, through play, art and music, Juan has managed to learn many subjects that in the traditional way, would not have been possible, favoring his neuronal and motor development.

With this type of therapies, Juan has been able to achieve some goals, of cognitive stimulation, self-expression, self-awareness, social interaction, communication or greater motor development, among others and has improved in the motivation to get involved in treatments and providing an outlet for the expression of feelings.

In the Playrooms - Corporacion Superarse,  we are looking for a music teacher, so that more children like Juan have the opportunity to learn in a different way and turn their limiting conditions into opportunities for enjoyment.

With your contributions we hope to have the possibility of buying instruments and necessary material for music lessons.

Other benefits of studying music in children are many and varied:

  • Stimulates imagination and creativity.
  • Increase the capacity for concentration and attention.
  • Improves the most complex mathematical and reasoning skills.
  • Strengthens learning, contributing to the linguistic knowledge of words, sounds and meanings.
  • Stimulate emotional intelligence. At the psychological level, he awakens and develops emotions and feelings that can modify his mood and promote reflection, as well as encouraging self-control.
  • It stimulates the corporal expression and it enhances the rhythmic control of the body when the music is accompanied by the dance.
  • Develop autonomy in their usual activities.
  • Develop musical aptitude and motor coordination

We are sure that with your donations we will achieve it.  Support the 600 children who can benefit from this program.
