This project will Support more than100 pregnant teen girls in Kampala, Uganda in 2020 at Wakisa Ministries which is a temporary shelter and counselling centre for pregnant teens with unplanned crisis preganancies. At Wakisa, the pregnant teens receive medical care, counselling, clothing and toiletries for the girl and the baby while being trained in life skills and vocational training. At Wakisa the girls will also receive free meals.
When young girls get pregnant, they are chased away from their communities and the father of the child abandons the young girl. Wakisa Ministries is a safe environment that offers hope to the young mothers to be and their babies. This project will offer counselling, prayer, antenatal, scan and medical care, temporary shelter, meals, group therapy sessions, life skills and vocational classes pregnant teen girls from all over Uganda.
This project will offer antenatal, scan and medical care, temporary shelter, meals, counselling, life skills and vocational classes to 100 pregnant teen girls from all over Uganda. The young mothers will deliver under sterile medical conditions under the supervision of skilled personnel. The young mothers are also taught life skills and vocational programs which will ensure an improved quality of living for mother, child and the community once they leave Wakisa Ministries and go back home.
The project will enable pregnant teen girls have access to a better quality of life after delivering the babies. This will be from the life skills and vocational classes taught at the centre to improve the livelihood in their communities. The trauma will be professionally handled.
