Thanks for your generous support of RISE and children in Angola!
This quarter included GivingTuesday, a movement created in 2012 to unleash the power of radical generosity around the world - a day that encourages people to do good. GlobalGiving's GivingTuesday campaign on 12/3/2024, offered a $750,000 Incentive Fund, which was proportionally divided at the end of the day. Together, you gave $15,300, and with the Incentive Funds, totaled $19,175! The matching funds are a gift, money we would not have had, and will give more kids the chance to go to school. Thanks also to those of you that contribute monthly, or with gift cards... all resulting in giving more children access to education year after year!
Our goal has been to raise funds to complete a school at Canjala, a place where kids have been "schooling" under trees, with some in a dilapidated mud structure… and when there is rain, wind, or cold, students go home. They need a safe, protected place, where they can focus and learn. The school is nearing completion, and the kids and community are excited!
The gift of education – the opportunity to learn to read and write – has the potential to change a child’s life and future, and extends to families, communities, and the country. Thank you for giving, multiplying your gifts, for impacting the lives of kids in Angola, and making a real difference!
