Give Liberian Children Healthcare, Education, HOPE

Dear Friends of Restore Hope,

After months of training new mental health counselors in the community of Kolahun where we work, we now have 80 adolescent boys and girls participating in group therapy. These youth are experiencing moderate to severe depression and are finding support through their groups to heal and overcome very challenging circumstances.

Restore Hope: Liberia's group therapy for adolescents is offered in schools, with the tremendous support of school staff and administration.

With your help, we've made a significant investment in training our first cohort of community members to facilitate the evidence-based model of Interpersonal Group Therapy. The facilitators are already reporting great improvement and we look forward to sharing the program results in the coming months.

I am thrilled to introduce you to RHL’s new Executive Director, Roseline Yah Trokpao Chesson.

Roseline is a systems thinker and public health leader with over two decades of experience designing and leading transformative health and development programs across West Africa. Her work spans mental health, reproductive health, HIV, malaria, health product supply chain management, and health systems strengthening- contributing to initiatives supported by UNICEF, USAID-funded projects, The Global Fund, Americares, and The Carter Center.

A proud Liberian and 2023/2024 Hubert H. Humphrey Alumna, Roseline is recognized for championing locally led solutions and driving the localization of aid through sustainable, community-based systems and regional partnerships.

Her leadership is rooted in integrity, resilience, and equity. She is deeply passionate about restoring dignity and well-being through community empowerment and systems-level transformation.

As Executive Director, Roseline is committed to strengthening Restore Hope: Liberia’s foundation and expanding its impact through strategic partnerships, data-informed programming, and innovative, community-centered approaches.

She brings a bold and thoughtful vision for growth, one that aligns with RHL’s mission while positioning the organization for national and regional influence in the years ahead.
