2023 success stories
Education
We had 10 students from different communities in Kenyan join our Sports For Change family. 6 of them were girls and 5 boys.
We had 5 girls who sat for final secondary school examinations. 3 of them passed well and joined university . Two of them joined diploma colleges.
We had two students (a boy and a girl ) who graduated from university. John did a degree in mechanical engineering and the Wamuyu did a degree in education science.
We had 3 girls who completed secondary school. 2 of them passed with flying Colours and will join university in September this year. The third girl will join college to pursue diploma in education. Like Safeena Husain once said, Girls’ education is the closest thing we have to a silver bullet to help solve some of the world’s most difficult problems.
Holiday leadership camp
We met our students during April, August and December holidays. During the April and December ,we traveled two counties out of town to meet the students for a one day leadership program. We have partnered with professional leadership coaches who guide and mentor the kids .
During August holidays , we meet all our students together in Nairobi for a 3 day leadership camp. 50 students attended. It was their first time to camp and they enjoyed. They met new friends ,new mentors and a great life coach .
School mentorships
Two years ago ,we adopted two public schools where we meet 300 students and mentor them.The teachers reported great improvement with pupils both socially and academically.
Charity hikes and Food donations
We had very few dry months in Kenya. Some of our students and their families did not have anything to eat. We organized charity hikes to raise funds for food donation. 50 families benefited from this.
