Thank you donors—we can’t say it enough! On behalf of our program participants, staff, and board of directors we want to thank you for your contributions. You helped us reach our goal and more by raising $3,225! Because of your generosity, 79 at risk students were able to attend woodworking workshops at the School of Wood enabling them to stimulate creativity and emotional well-being. Our students were very excited to reconnect with peers and adults after months of isolation due to the pandemic.
The carpentry skills workshops took place on Thursday, July 8th and Friday, July 9th allowing students from San Juan, Canóvanas, Juncos and Naguabo to participate. Four woodworking sessions were offered in total, two in the morning and two in the evening, ensuring all students had the opportunity to take part in the activities. By helping us go beyond our project goal, we were able to use the extra funds to provide lunch and transportation for students. This would not have been possible without you! Attending these workshops has enriched the lives of our students in many ways, including academic, personal and social growth.
Thank you for keeping Puerto Rico Youth at Risk vibrant, strong and ready to offer more programs for our youth in the future.
With gratitude,
The Jovenes de Puerto Rico en Riesgo, Inc. team
