ACHIEVEMENTS OF 2020 WITH YOUR HELP

The pandemic affects us all, especially children. Millions of children have been left without basic health, education and protection services just because they were born in poverty or because of their origin, race or religion. COVID-19 has accentuated this inequality gap, and the repercussions will continue to rage for years, threatening children's rights.

Despite everything we had to face, in SUPERARSE, our children were protected, THANKS TO YOUR HELP, some of our main achievements in were:

640 girls, boys and young people from vulnerable communities, served as direct and indirect beneficiaries.

100% of the direct beneficiary children were linked to the study and to health services

200 families = 680 people benefited in campaigns for COVID19

1816 packages with food, hygiene kit and psychosocial care, distributed to vulnerable families

$ 18,000 dollars obtained through GlobalGiving, with which we were able to strengthen the education, nutrition and well-being of children.

$ 660,000 dollars invested during the year for the attention of all beneficiaries.

35 direct employees, who kept their salary and all benefits during the year.

YOU CAN DRAW A SMILE ON CHILDREN THIS CHRISTMAS

Hello, I'm Martin! And this is my story. I am 10 years old and I look forward to meeting my parents and my new adoptive family every day. I know that when they find me, they will be as happy as I am.

But you know what? Before, waiting was a little more fun, I could play with other children from school and learn many new things in class, but after the pandemic everything changed. I no longer saw my friends from school and it is difficult for me to learn in virtual classes, because the few computers in the boarding school do not have a camera or microphone. And this not only happens to me, but also to all the children of SUPERARSE.
It is so difficult for me to understand the classes, before when I could go to school if I did not understand something, I could raise my hand and my teacher would come to explain, but now I have no way to talk to her; she does not see me, nor does she listen to me. The few times I have been able to talk to her is when the psychologist lends me her cell phone for a few minutes. The wait is not so fun anymore and I feel very sad.
Despite all this, I believe that beautiful things happen at Christmas if you want them with all your heart. And I wish that all the children of the Superse boarding school could have computers to share again with our classmates and teachers. I know that this way the wait to go back to class will be much better, right?

More than 100,000 children and adolescents from schools and kindergartens in the country abandoned their studies due to the covid-19 pandemic, according to figures published by the Ministry of Education. This implies a significant setback in educational fees and learning processes with very serious consequences for the future of these children.

One of the main factors that cause dropouts are connectivity problems, the lack of computer equipment, and the economic difficulties of families.

This emergency is giving us an opportunity to transform education in Colombia, and with your help THIS CHRISTMAS, we will achieve it, CONTRIBUTE TO THIS PROJECT, so that 150 CHILDREN without resources can have educational materials, COMPUTERS AND INTERNET and everything they need to receive quality education.

50 children survived the coronavirus

"I am Roger (no real name), I am 10 years old and I live in the boarding school of SUPERARSE, with other children because I do not have parents, here we all live very happy, we always study, play and eat together, because we do not have much space.

In July we got sick, one day they told us that a lady who prepares food, could not come to work because she was sick, at the same time some of my friends also felt sick, I just felt a little headache, but in that same week some doctors came to test us for Coronavirus, they put something in our nose and then the results also scared us, because many of my friends and I had the disease that we see news about every day, other friends who did not have any symptoms, also the result was positive.

Immediately our routines changed, we had to wear masks in all spaces, play with masks and eat very far apart, everything changed very quickly, but also very quickly we returned to normality, thanks to the fact that we followed everything they recommended in 2 weeks, we were without illness and with a negative result, none of my friends got very ill, only some of us got a little flu.

Now we are very healthy, but we learned better how to take care of ourselves, we cannot leave the boarding school at all and we cannot receive anyone, no one can come to visit us, that makes us sad, but we know that it is necessary to remain healthy."

Like Roger, 35 more children were affected by COVID19, however their age and care, the disease did not affect them seriously and Thank God and they are all well, some of the children were never infected despite living all together, doctors say they may have developed immunity from living together.
