Julián came to Superarse when he was 8 years old, but he didn't look more than 6 years old, his sad face, hands behind his back and downcast gaze melted our hearts since we saw him for the first time. But what was not surprising was that he arrived barefoot, his feet were black and he had some small scars and other small wounds still open.
When we asked him, he just said, cuts with glass from the floor, the normal thing.
We knew that now our responsibility to Julian was even greater, for him shoes were more important.
Giving him the first shoes was an unforgettable experience, his little eyes shone, while his little hands touched the laces, the sole, the fabric.
Julián asked us: Are they new? His tone was one of total surprise. We told him yes, they were brand new and they were his. And also, that we would soon give him another new pair.
From that moment, we learned more about the importance of footwear, it was more than just a requirement, or a necessity. It was something that should not be taken for granted. And now we want our children to understand it too. Because it is not only about putting yourself in someone else's shoes, but also the fortune of being able to put yourself in your own shoes.
Therefore, donate on the bonus day this JULY 10, your contribution will help us continue providing the appropriate and quality footwear that our children need. We are counting on you!
