Every night, Aisha or Ngozi struggles to read by dim candlelight. Like millions of children in off-grid Nigerian communities, darkness ends her learning day too early. This project provides safe solar lanterns so children can study at night, improve school performance, and dream beyond poverty. One light at a time.
Many children in Nigeria live without reliable electricity. After sunset, studying becomes unsafe or impossible due to darkness, smoke, and fire risks from candles and kerosene lamps. This limits learning time, harms health, and widens education gaps for children already facing poverty and disadvantage
We will distribute durable solar lanterns to school-age children in off-grid communities. Each lantern provides clean, bright light for night study and homework. Families receive guidance on safe use, while children gain extra learning hours, without fuel costs, smoke, or fire hazards.
Our goal is improved learning outcomes and safer homes for children without electricity. With reliable light, students study longer, perform better in school, and stay motivated. Over time, this reduces dropout rates and helps children build brighter futures powered by clean energy.
