At the three-year mark since AFSO's inception, access to the internet remains the biggest challenge and thr strongest lifeline we can give to our student in Afghanistan. thanks to donors' generosity, we have been able to enroll 1,200 students this summer--up 400 from a year ago--because we provide them with the data essential to their taking our real-time, remote university courses with professors around the world.
The data-delivery aspect of AFSO's program has also become crucial to our students' success in accredited university programs once they graduate form AFSO. For our biggest accredited partnership, with the Bard Global Degree, we will have 20 students enrolled in Fall 2027 who require both data and fiber-optic internet access to support a full-time university schedule, including research and major projects. Already, the Bard program is serving as a springboard to brick-and-mortar universities in Europe and to job opportunities.
We are almost halfway to our goal and would love to reach it before the end of 2026. Almost 6,000 students are on our waitlist. The more data we can supply, the more students we can enroll and set out on their pathway toward a future free of the unconscionable restrictions put in place by the Taliban. Please continue to support this program, or join us for the first time. Together, we can ensure that young women have access to education, regardless of the regime under which they happen to have been born. Thank you for everything you do!
