Costa Rican Scholarship students Receive Vouchers

By Marian Latham, | Report Writer/Editor

Education Committee's Awards Ceremony

On July 11, , the CAA Education Scholarship Committee hosted over 50 students, parents, grandparents, and volunteers, for the 2nd Awards Ceremony of 2026.   Twice a year we hold our awards ceremonies where the scholarship students receive their vouchers to purchase the uniforms, shoes, and school supplies they need to attend school. Eighteen new and returning students will be part of the Scholarship program for 2026 and we hope to see 7 of our current students graduating at the end of this year.  The CAA Education Scholarship program has been instrumental in helping many academically-motivated but poverty-stricken students who often live with single mothers or guardians ineligible for government assistance, to stay in school and graduate.   We appreciate the continued support of our Committee volunteers and financial support from our generous donors at GlobalGiving.   We recognize the significance of high school graduation here in Costa Rica,  and for our scholarship students, it is an extraordinary accomplishment since few, if any, of the parents of these students have finished their high school studies.
