The project consists of three relevant activities focused on helping families affected by the fire that occurred on December 24th, 2019 in Valparaiso. The activities in the short term are: Ludic workshops for local children and sustainable construction workshops for young people and adults. In the long term, we will build a LUDOTECA for emotional support and socio-emotional development of children in vulnerable environments.
On December 24, 2019, a fire occurred in Valparaiso, which left 255 houses completely destroyed and another 57 were damaged. Many families were left homeless, and many children were left without Christmas. The housing solutions provided by the government are slow and short-term, so it is necessary to help the community in emotional and material containment.
Our project will provide content to children through recreational workshops, provide training in sustainable construction to young people and adults through workshops led by professional architects, and provide a Ludoteca to the community led by teachers specialized in Waldorf Meotodology, where all Children will develop socio-emotional skills, protecting them from an environment of violence.
The long-term project will focus on the Ludoteca, which is estimated to be able to receive more than 80 different children per month with the implementation of daily workshops. In the Ludoteca we will employ two teachers specialized in the Waldorf methodology and a psychologist, in addition, we will receive foreign and national volunteers specialized in early and second childhood education.
