Unfortunately, an estimated 12% of the Pakistani population, that is 26 million people, are affected either by blindness or impaired vision, of which 90% is curable but left untreated due to poverty and lack of access to ophthalmological facilities. Of the 26 million Pakistanis suffering from vision loss, 47% are male. LRBT through its network of 19 hospitals, and 60 clinics offers state-of-the-art free eye treatment for the poor through experienced ophthalmologists, ensuring that each deserving patient who walks into LRBT receives quality eye care with utmost dignity and respect. With this project you will support LRBT in giving the gift of sight to over 1000 suffering boys/men who have curable blindness but do not receive treatment due to lack of means.
Restoring the eyesight of these young men will improve their chances of living empowered lives, earning respectably for themselves and their family, and receiving an education.
