Through this projects Hand Pumps / Water wells be installed in remote areas of Tharparkar, Sindh Pakistan. 20 Hand Pumps will be installed out of 20 Hand Pumps 10 Hand Pumps will be deep and 10 will be house hold level hand pumps to help the poor communities who travel 2-3 Kilometres to fetch 10 litres of water bucket.
District Tharparkar and its talukas/tehsils are (Naghar Parkar, Islamkot, Diplo, Chachro & Mithi) mostly deserts and the region has no permanent fresh water source. Nonetheless, in NagharParkar two perennial springs as water sources identified as Anchlesar and sardhro, is present. Besides, there are some hilly tracks in the regions & some temporary streams which flow during rainy seasons. Hence, when there is rain, the desert soil support some form of crop cultivation, forage & grass.
FRDP will Install the Hand Pumps / Water Wells in the villages where women travels 2-3 Kilometres a day to fetch 10 litres of water bucket, this project will help them to provide the Hand Pumps at there door step and also they can grow the vegetables at there hand pumps.
Water will be at there door step and women will not travel 2-3 kilometres to fetch water and she can spend her saved time on the other work.
