Good360 continues to be active in response and recovery for the Turkiye earthquakes. Funding from American Eagle Outfitters and the Center for Disaster Philanthropy ensured we were able to continue work despite incredible logistics challenges. CDP supported our pre-stage warehouse in Jacksonville, FL to make this all possible.
As reported in Update #1, we completed an airllift in collaboration with Maersk, The UPS Foundation, Coyote Logistics, Good360, Lift Nonprofit Logistics and the Kale Foundation join forces in transporting humanitarian aid to Türkiye.
440 pallets of U.S. donated relief goods were transported to Türkiye in response to the two powerful earthquakes which struck the region on February 6th with 7.8 magnitude, and hours later a 7.7 magnitude.
A humanitarian aid and logistics chain was created to convey the privately-donated U.S. relief goods which will be transported by both truck and air to the afflicted area. Those relief goods included clothing, bedding, diapers, wipes, food, KIND bars, first aid kits, hygiene care, feminine care items, tents and solar power lights.
Those donations came from Amazon, Hello Bello, Nice-Pak, KIND, CVS Health, AmerisourceBergen, Cora, LuminAID, Coyuchi, Sew Purposeful, YouGiveGoods (Fidelity), and NPO partners Hands in Service and United Way of Lee County.
Good360 has continued to identify needed products in Turkiye, that have included furniture, medical supplies, hygiene products and clothing. To get the products needed, we again assembled a humanitarian supply chain to close each need gap. FODAC and WID worked together to identify needs for disabled survivors and find medical supplies to assist.
Kale Foundation required classroom and dorm furniture, so Good360 worked with IRN to identify repurposed dorm and school furniture from across the country.
TOBB had hundreds of pallets of products donated to the Turkish Consulate in Chicago. Good360 and LIFT Logistics picked them up, sorted them, and are getting some to Turkiye and saving some for humanitarian prepositioning.
Altogether, nearly 50 containers will be shipped to Turkiye by Good360, LIFT Logistics, and Maersk. Maersk is also donating containers to Kale Foundation for use as classrooms and habitats for survivors.
The work is difficult, the needs remain great, but the passion for helping others transcends all. Thank you for your support!
