In rural Tamil Nadu, farming is becoming uncertain due to climate change, soil degradation, and water scarcity. At the same time, today's children are disconnected from agriculture-the very system that sustains their communities. Without intervention: Youth are leaving farming Traditional knowledge is disappearing Food security is at risk
Climate change is making farming in rural Tamil Nadu unpredictable, with poor soil, water scarcity, and erratic rainfall. At the same time, children are growing up disconnected from agriculture, with no practical education in sustainable farming. This creates a critical gap-fewer future farmers, declining food security, and vulnerable rural communities unprepared to face climate challenges.
This project transforms schools into hands-on learning farms, training children in climate-smart agriculture, soil health, and water conservation. Through school gardens and agri-labs, students gain practical skills, reconnect with farming, and promote nutrition. By building awareness and interest early, it creates a new generation of climate-resilient farmers and strengthens long-term food security
This project builds a generation of climate-smart farmers who adopt sustainable practices, restore soil health, and improve water use. Over time, it strengthens rural livelihoods, enhances nutrition, and reduces migration. By embedding agriculture in education, it ensures long-term food security, environmental resilience, and empowered communities capable of adapting to climate change.
