End of the year activities!
By Paula Lemos | Global Development Director

During the last weeks of the year 2022, at School we organized different activities with children and families, as a way to end the school year before holidays.
One of the activities was to write letters to different social leaders, such as Pope Francis, introducing themselves and sending a special message to them.
Children were really enthusiastic and motivated about this kind of activities, that were promoted by their teachers.
Thank you so much to all our supporters for helping us to be close to children in ther education and to be close to their families to help them with health, food and other social needs.

At MDLP we continue to believe that education is one of the pillars to improve the quality of life of a community. So, we keep on with the activity in our 3 schools, supporting Jordanian, Iraqi and Syrian refugees in Amman in situation of poverty. Today we would like to tell you what we are doing in order to provide a more comprehensive care for the individual.
Schooling is used to provide the children, in addition to education, with one hot meal a day. Besides, support is provided to families in need through a system of food vouchers that allow them to buy food in local stores.
In addition, in order to give continuity to the education project, we have started training a group of young people to provide them with tools to facilitate their entry into the labor market. They are offered education in life skills development, English and career counseling in digital learning centers.
As you can see, through education we can reach further and all of this thanks to the support you are giving to our schools’ program

During these last months our project in Amman, the capital of Jordan, kept on developing the educational process of more than 400 children through digital tools. Luckily, all our activities are nowadays face-to-face. Our goal is to give integral accompaniment to Jordanian, Iraqi and Syrian boys and girls between 4th and 11th grade. Now, as a new, we are also incorporating activities for young people in order to give continuity to the older ones.
A work group from our headquarters in Spain, headed by our General Director, Sergio Mella, came to Amman to visit our school and oversee the project. It was a very productive stay and we all agreed that, with the help of people from so many different parts of the world, so much good can be done for refugee children.
Thanks for your support!
